GP tries killing Kathir but finally gets arrested by Gautham. This leads Pooja's uncle Kathir to revenge GP by mysteriously killing GP's henchmen and trying to destroy his businesses and his criminal network.
Gautham kills Arya, enraging GP, who vows to destroy Vaani's family. GP is also a prominent business magnate who controls the Indian medicine mafia activity, and his son Arya was a famous criminal dealing in international illegal organ mafia activities. Gautham becomes a policeman and investigates a murder that took place in a quarry which was owned by a doctor known as GP. Surya and Dimple wanted to divorce each other several times, but in the end, Vani was able to bring them back together. She hates Vaani and does everything against her. Selvi also faces numerous problems through her father in law, Kaali, Alamelu and Shenbagam, Shiva and Geetha, and later on through Kaali's daughter, Maalathy.
While this was occurring, Jyothi's daughter Poongodi is involved in a love triangle between Karthi, and Saravanan. This angered Dimple heavily and she tried to make Pooja seem at fault in every family argument. Though Gautham resented Pooja for some time, he quickly fell in love with her and they began to lead a happy, joyous life. Kadhir turns into a good man after Pooja's marriage. After many incidents and obstacles, Gautham marries Kadhir's niece, Pooja to rescue Saravanan from Kadhir. Gautham threatens Kadhir to leave his family alone. However, problems continue to haunt them in the form of a vengeful Angayarkanni and Jyothi and Kadhir, a local don who has his vengeance against Saravanan. They get together but live in separate houses. However, Bhoominaathan later realises his faults, turns over a new leaf and sends his mother away and tries to get the family together.
Meanwhile, Selvi falls in love and under dire circumstances, marries Rajesh with only Vaani as a chance witness, causing a rift in the family, and their eventual separation, resulting in Vaani and Raani to get separated. At the same time, the entrance of Angayarkanni, who is jealous of Vaani and Raani's close relationship despite Vaani's refusal to directly address Raani, further worsens the problems, as she always is conspiring against them and trying to separate them. Problems continue to erupt in the house due to Bhoominaathan's ego against his stepbrother. Vaani has two sons, Surya Narayanan, an unemployed and childlike lawyer and Gautham, the college guy, while Rani has three children, Saravanan, Selvi and Thaenmozhi. However, they all live together in the same house. Over the years, Vaani and Bhoominaathan turn out to be very successful, while Raani and Swaminaathan are not too successful since all of Swaminaathan's business turn out to be failures. At the same time, Vaani refuses to speak with Raani after that.
He elopes with her, where Raani is forced to marry, earning Vaani and Raani the wrath of their uncle and their mother-in-law, Angayarkanni. Meanwhile, Maanikkam's son, Manohar falls in love with Bhoominaathan's sister, Jyothi. Over the years, Vaani passes out as a successful lawyer and marries Bhoominaathan, a granite businessman, while Raani marries Bhoominaathan's half-brother, Swaminaathan, a famous restaurant owner. Vaani aspires to become a lawyer Raani sacrifices her education so that Maanikkam will make Vaani a lawyer. Identical twin sisters Vaani and Raani, after the loss of their parents are brought up by their paternal uncle, Maanikkam.
